Rock The Bells Festival Rocks Queens with LL Cool J
On Saturday, thousands of people flocked to Forest Hills Stadium in Queens, New York, for the Rock The Bells Festival, which featured a line-up of hip-hop superstars and was hailed by both audience members and performers as a coronation of the genre.
After winning a legal dispute over the festival's name, founder LL Cool J resurrected it. His 1985 No. 1 single, "Rock The Bells," is likewise titled with same phrase.
Hip-hop royalty including Ice Cube, Jadakiss, Rick Ross, Lil' Kim, Busta Rhymes, and Scarface performed during the all-day festival. Additionally, it highlighted the rapper-curated Trill Mealz Food Court, which included food from joints owned by rappers including Bun B's Trill Burgers, Nas' Sweet Chick, and Ghostface Killah's Killah Koffee.
Styles P, a member of the hip-hop duo The Lox and co-founder of Juices for Life with group member Jadakiss, said it's wonderful when artists work together and do more for hip-hop than just entertain an audience.
